Maybe Damon started chasing Elena because it was his goal. But that doesn't mean he didn't fall in love with her along the way and it doesn't make his love any less real.

I am just angry she says things like that cause I don't think that she will be applied. Maybe there was some Bamon in the beginning (which I seriously can't see but whatever) but in "nightfall" and "shadow souls" there was Delena (and a little bit Stelena)...So it's way more possible for a Stelena end game than a Bamon one!
After all she was the one who compared Damon/Elena/Stefan with Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot ( a love triangle Smith adores)...not mention of Bonnie here...So...

The TV show is really the only thing that matters to me, and I know that Bamon will never happen. So..I'm alright.

I'm angry for the DE fans that are book fans :/ A lot of my friends are upset by this. The only thing I can say is, just don't buy the books. If Bonnie/Damon are happening in Midnight, it wouldn't matter if DE were endgame anyway. Damon's character would already be fcked. Basically defecated on by LJ herself.

I really hate L.J after that statement she is really bad writer as much as she doesn't respect and love her own creation. she was the one who wrote Delena and made them epic and now she is going to destroy her own beautiful story and characters. but whatever f*ck L.J I do not care much about the books. I feel disgusted on behalf of the book DE fans...I feel confident that the writers won't pursue the Bamon route in the show, because they've made too many obstacles by way of Bonnie's witch ancestry and hatred for Damon for that to happen. Though I don't expect any of the producers to ever admit that to the fans - they are smarter than LJ Smith is. From what I've read via emails to fans she's written, LJ Smith will do and say anything depending on who she's writing to. If you love DE, she will tell you that DE will probably/definitely happen. If you love SE she will tell you that they have an unbreakable bond and will always love each other. And if you love Bamon, she will tell you that Damon has always cared about Bonnie, even before he met Elena, to make you think Bamon will happen. She's just screwing fans over. She doesn't care about the story or characters. She'll say anything to get you all to read her precious books.

and I agree with you "ninaa1983" if she does damon and bonnie end together , it shows how much she doesn't respect us, it took several books for that Elena realize she feels more than the friendship towards him, Damon , him is fully on Eléna and that he loves her ,ONLY HER. For me the last book should show: Damon and Elena admitting they feel for each other and maybe with luck: DE, eventually end together.

I can imagine how DE fans may feel about it.. but guys don't insult LJ.. She's the one who made the books and as a result the Tv show was made.. It's just rude... the way, she treats us already say that we love damon just because ian is beautiful, then she marks: "Damon chases Elena Because He Himself has set goal When he first saw her". and finally we had it marked a message of support on his blog that we had not despaired that stefan had not won elena and she brand of contradictory messages after ! and I think that's enough !

Even though I don't really like Delena in the books, I do feel bad for the Delena shippers who do like them. :(

But don't give up hope guys. At this point, i'm not really counting on much of what L.J says. First she's supporting Bamon, the next day Delena. She justs wants to keep both fandom's hopes up so we'll all buy her books. The whole TVD fandom for the books are being played.

this statement really hurt me ,Because Delena was build for 6 books for what so that Bamon could be endgame? Making Damon and Bonnie a couple just destroys Damon's characters .
If Bamon do End up as her endgame them for me the fury is the last book and SS happened before the fury and Katherine is their last enemy. I prefer for Elena to be dead and for Stefan and Damon to take care of each other this is better then Bamon Endgame

She can write wherever she wants and we are free to buy the book or not. I read the books just for DE, the rest annoys me so much, so without DE i won't buy it.

it was from an email a Bamon fan posted on twitter. I emailed her to ask her if the bamon fan was making the whole thing up or if it was true. she has not emailed me back. If its not true she needs to tell everyone. then again bamon fans told me it was true.

It's kinda sad but L.J is such a bad writter and her books are as bad as Stephanie Meyer's...
So I don't give a crap about what she says because DE is happening in the show, even if she doesn't like it.

@loveofdelena, I believe LJ Smith said this in an email to a Bamon fan. But since there is no source, then it's possible it's not true. Bamon fans have made things up before. (Remember the 'statistics' poll?) I think it's odd that it only says "before TVD happened." OK then, when was that? In a parallel universe? L.J. did write a short story about Bamon but that was centred on TVD, and it never got published. To my knowledge, there is nothing in her body of work that is about Bamon being a couple. If it was never published, then it's irrelevant. This sounds MIGHTY doubtful to me.
