^agreed. I think it was late S1 or the beginning of S2 when she said this :) so don't worry :) KW said the same about Dawson/Joey ;)

I think it might have been around 2x18 when she said that. Because I remember everyone on fanpop was squealing over the pic of DE dancing, and then around that time, Julie did an interview where she said something that really outraged the fanbase. I'm sure it was that ^^^ "Damon is the third point of the triangle" thing.

Julie (and Kevin) have said many things over the years to make it look like SE were the big ole love story and that DE would never amount to anything. You've gotta remember that they were speaking in the context of what was happening on the show at the time. I've never agreed with how they bigged up Stelena because I think fans are discerning enough to decide for themselves how to perceive a ship. It was quite obvious to me that Stelena were NOT the 'true epic love story' of the show. I think Jules just said that because she felt she had to; I think she and Kevin cottoned on pretty early that SE were about exciting as warm milk, so she felt it was her duty to 'remind' the fans who they should really be getting behind. Unfortunately for her, it didn't work. She also said that SE were "the true epic love story of the show" at Paleyfest, probably around the S1/2 mark.

That's what i've noticed and it makes me upset... :/ Delena fans are so many more than Stelena fans how can they not see that?

I do not understand why she said that when DE's story seems to have been meticulously planned since season 1. Compare DE versus SE's quick romance, hop into bed, built on secrets...Even in season two it was obvious SE lacked any sort of spark or good storytelling. The writers did not and still do not invest all of their energy and brainpower when it comes to SE. The music, parallels, hints and foreshadowing have all pointed to DE as the epic love story.

I want to scream at her, but I'll let bygones be bygones. It's not even because I ship Delena. It's because a good writer/producer/anyone related to the show should never say things like that. A character should be respected individually. As in, Damon's sole purpose shouldn't be being the 'third point on the triangle' and Stefan and Elena shouldn't be defined as the 'epic love story'. Because aside from the tangled mess of relationships on this show, they are individual characters as well. I'd like to believe that if any one of them disappeared temporarily or forever, the show would move on.

it was in the beginning of the 1st season ...I remember being so pissed after it ...but I'm sure she doesn't think like that anymore...
