YES, if you look at every single DE moment it all shows the build up for endgame<3 and if the writers throw that away and don't make them endgame they have wasted their time in making DE what they are!

Yes. Look at how they are making the show. Its practically 'always going to be stefan'. Its a love triangle, and most fans prefer Damon & Elena, though theyre not really giving Damon & Elena a chance when it comes to Elena 'choosing' who she wants to be with. It's ridiculous, but we all know the producers are just waiting for the right moment, they dont want to give us too much enjoyment with Damon & Elena scenes just yet; although we've had some amazing ones last season.. I think they want to give us little bits at a time, teasing us.. until the end. Damon & Elena are endgame. I know it.

I can't see the story making any sense without Delena ending up together - happy, tragic or whatever, but definitely a DE endgame.
