I'm a DE fan, too, and I didn't find it insulting at all. So no, I won't be boycotting my favorite show. Though I won't be watching it live, because I never can ^^

No. This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. JP was right. We SHOULDN'T expect to see DE in episode 1 of next season. It will be about Elena coping with the fact that she either dies or has to transition. Then it will be about her transitioning for the next few episodes. Then there's the whole Tyler/Klaus/Caroline thing. There's so much going on that we need to realize that while the triangle is a big part of the show, it's by no means the only part.
